Scope and content: Bound volume which Rolls covered with brown paper. The original label on the volume reads 'The Royal Manchester College of Music, Ducie Street, Oxford Road, Department for the Training of Music Teachers; Name - Sydney Rolls [in own hand]; Notes on Teaching'. Sydney has written his name on the inside page, too. The volume contains extensive lecture notes taken by Rolls; the course was delivered initially by Dr Walter Carroll and then by Dr Thomas Keighley.

Scope and content: Volumes I-V of Dr Keighley's series on Harmony, published in 1914 by Bayley and Ferguson. Books I-IV each contain 100 exercises and Rolls has completed them all; they have been marked, probably by Keighley himself. Book V contains 240 harmony exercises, but Rolls has not completed any of these.
