The original label on the volume reads 'The Royal Manchester College of Music, Ducie Street, Oxford Road, Department for the Training of Music Teachers; Name - Sydney Rolls [in own hand]; Notes on Teaching'. Sydney has written his name on the inside page, too. The volume contains extensive lecture notes taken by Rolls; the course was delivered initially by Dr Walter Carroll and then by Dr Thomas Keighley.

Scope and content: Volumes I-V of Dr Keighley's series on Harmony, published in 1914 by Bayley and Ferguson. Books I-IV each contain 100 exercises and Rolls has completed them all; they have been marked, probably by Keighley himself. Book V contains 240 harmony exercises, but Rolls has not completed any of these.
