“Hi Mat & Wayne, I remember going to the Mayflower Club around this time with some guys from Accrington...well, slightly vague memories but I think it was at this this actual event- anyway, I don't recall seeing J C Clark but (almost)distinctly remember The Buzzcocks being supported by The Slits, The Worst and Patrick Fitzgerald(maybe JCC was on the 'other' evening, dunno)... whatever, it was the one & only time I went to this venue and can fully remember being struck by how grotty, smelly, threadbare and perfect the place was. Pete Shelley came off stage, after their set, handing out those little 'another music in a different kitchen' badges to the audience (the innocence and benevolence of the time!!)... and The Worst were sublime!”
