“I remember when it was Church Street Records. As a 15 year old I tried to get a Stranglers album cheap by switching price stickers. I presented it to the owner who took one look at it then smashed it down on my head. I left without the Album but with an expanded vocabulary of expletives.”

“The cry of "Care for any sea food y'all?" would ring out across Manchester. It was often followed by "prawns, cockles, welks, muscles" and on one memorable occasion "Spear of Destiny Tickets". What ever happened to the Kershaw's sea food men?”

“So many great memories of this shop. It was always the meeting point for my school mates on a Saturday. At the age of twelve in 1979 the word 'virgin' just seemed rude. The transparent orange bags with 'It's at Virgin' printed on were something of a status symbol, and I would find things to carry in one just to show it off. I remember it being quite dark inside with green metal lamp shades hanging low over the stock. There was a long counter running the width of the back of the shop. It had Technics decks on and headphones so you could listen before you bought. At the age of 12 it felt like the coolest place on earth.”

“Not a criticism but a general comment. As this event is yet to happen, does it have a place in the archive? Thoughts please.”

“A really impressive piece, and an important historical document. You need to really look after it. I wonder how may of them survived? It must be worth several hundred pounds.”

“Thanks for sharing. It got me thinking, 'why was a basement club called rafters?' Does anyone know?”

“As far as I remember there were only six Bazzin' nights, and each one was a gem. They were hosted by the fabulous Bennett Mott and his then partner Gerard. I think they were monthly. The only definite date I have is For the sixth and final one which was on Friday 31st May 1996. It was a birthday party for Gerrard and was free entry for friends. I have all the badges bar the first one. I presume that they did badges for them all and i must have just lost it. The nights were named in order:
Bazzin'
I'm Bazzin' 2
It's Bazzin 3
Big Bazzin 4
Bendy Bazzin 5
Party Bazzin' 6
The flyers stated a strict ' No Divs' policy and I seem to recall you could get a cup of tea and your fortune told downstairs. Did Bennett's brother Tony Mott DJ?
When i get round to doing my great photograph and upload I'll put my badges and party invite into the archive.”
