“The Boardwalk was a great little venue with good rehearsal space. I saw lots of bands play there and I remember Colin Sinclair who ran/owned it. I think he also managed The Railway Children and ACR.”

“At the time of this recording Some Now Are were a seven piece band. They supported The Smiths with this line up in the 1980s. They also supported New Order and The Stockholm Monsters amongst others in the 1980s as an electro 3 piece band. This looks like the Master tape from their second single A side "Truth to Tell" B Side "The Heaviest Gate", there was also a dub mix of the A side on the single. This was recorded at Strawberry Studios Stockport in 1983 and it was produced by Peter Hook who also did the drum machine programming, played electronic drum percussion on the B side and also added to the chant like vocal and clapping on the A side. Some Now Are also had another track that was produced by Peter Hook. This was titled "Begging You" This was recorded at Suite 16 in Rochdale again in the 1980s and was planned as a follow up single but was not released due to a lack of funds! Some Now Are also worked at Suite 16 on a number of other recordings in the 1980s with CJ and Rex engineering/producing.”
