“I suppose tape 18 has got A/B mislabelled (as "THE HOUSEY ONE" would be Vanishing Point, and "8 TRACK No2" is All The Way), then? This makes me wonder if All The Way was ever called "MT One" (the "middle tempo" one?), or if the B side of tape 19 refers to some version of MTO that was recorded over with All The Way?”

“Any idea if the VHS tape with the Leigh Festival footage was among the gear stolen? Perhaps they were going to give it to Michael Shamberg a few days later for him to convert it to NTSC?”

“Some Now Are are a different band, they released a 7" in 1983 which was produced by Peter Hook - "recorded in Stockport, Manchester" (it says so on the sleeve; Strawberry, presumably). The b-side on that single is called "The Heaviest Gate". Perhaps these are the tracks on the actual reel?”

“Possibly taped by Larry Gott (not a member of the band back then) on amateur equipment?”

“Yes, seeing Mat has now added the track listing, it is definitely "Heart and soul". Note how it's only got the start and ending of "Unknown Pleasures" and "Closer" - to see how they fit in the running order - the main part of the albums being omitted for space reasons on this test run, probably.”
