A gem of a Sunday session lead by a refreshing guitar duet with Jim O'Rourke(domino records) and a strung out Loren Mazzacane with fab support by local heroes Alfie.
An evening nicley topped and tailed with obscure vinyl courtesy of Andy Votel and Dr. Strangehair (Stazi's..Owen Rankin).
Excellent!

“was this the gig where an audience member crawled on stage (literally) and started making his way up jim o'rourke's leg?”
“can't remeber that!
although i was popping in and out of auditorium, may have happened!
wouldn't suprise me though”
“Yup, it was that gig. Man City had won the league that day and the staff from Piccadilly Records were pissed up heckling Jim O Rourke to play Smiths songs. Then that guy was crawling around the stage (fucking well weird). He was removed by a guy with big lamb chop sideburns.

Jim looked totally bemused.

Loren mazzacane Connors was the kind of emperors new clothes act the Wire loves.

Alfie were pretty good.

O Rourke was top though I think everyone was expecting a full band and songs from Eureka but he sat and quietly strummed his way through an acoustic set.”
“man city that day indeed...owen rankin played spendid tunes in the deluxe bar pre jim.more sunday gigs needed here in manc please!”
