Title: Manuscript music
Level: Series
Extent: 48 items
Creator:
Dates: 1939-2007
Scope and content: Manuscript music of Arthur Butterworth in autograph, photocopy and printed format. These follow Arthur Butterworth's own catalogue system of his work with Opus No's. Adding to this, there are 5 items which precede the catalogue. 5 items, 1939-1946 uncatalogued. 43 items catalogued by Arthur Butterworth with Opus numbers. These are not representative of Arthur Butterworth's whole work and further accruals are expected. In July 2006 a further 18 items were added to the collection (ABW/1/49-64). Although most have Opus numbers, they have been added to the end of the current ABW/1 series. This was to prevent complicating the catalogue with (a) and (b) numbers. These additional items date from 1956-2001. In November 2006 a further 29 items were added to the collection (ABW/1/65-93). Although most have Opus numbers, they have been added to the end of the ABW/1 series, for the same reasons as stated above. These additional items date from 1945-2006.
