“The third photo shows some pieces by Giovanni Gabrieli from his Sacred Symphonies composed in 1615. Musica Rara (which has now been bought out) was an edition where all Gabrieli's Canzons and Sonatas, which only featured brass instruments, were published. Mr Howarth must have numbered the works for a project and indicated the number of voices and instrumentation required. As for the third photo, it's a manuscript by Mr Howarth of one of his fabulous fanfares, which only he knows the secret of. There you have it, I hope I've given you some guidance. The names ( on the left ) of Primi Toni, Quarti Toni, Octavi Toni, Noni Toni must be related to the works and related modes ( following columns ).
